How This Works
Welcome to Revealed: A 40 Day Journey of Love
Whether you have verbalized it yet or not… we all know something is wrong.
Does something deep inside your heart long to break free form the status quo? Are you hungry for an authentic faith that addresses the problems of our world with tangible, even radical, solutions? God is calling you to a passionate love relationship with Himself and those around you. Because the answer to religious complacency isn’t working harder at a list of do’s and don’ts – it’s falling in love with God. And once you encounter His love, you will never be the same and neither will those around you.
How It Works
Each day on this journey will reveal a new Challenge to take on that is designed to increase and expand your capacity to love our God, our Neighbors, and our World. But before each challenge is a set…
- READ. We will be reading little snapshots that take us through the entire story of Jesus in 40 days from birth to Easter. Everything we do for the next 40 days will lead to Easter.ASK. Questions to ask yourself and even journal about during the journey. Several of the questions are for you to talk to your partner about as you make your way through the next 40 days. Take your time to read these and answer them because they lead directly to the challenges.
THINK. Just a brief thought to sum up what we are talking about in today’s challenge.
DO. Here is the challenge. Some challenges will be harder than others, and even some of them work together. You will even find that you can’t complete a challenge all in one day which is okay… it’s just a day to get it started. Whatever it is you need to set out to complete each challenge (especially the ones you don’t want to!).
PRAY. Each challenge closes with a prayer to increase our capacity to love.
Find A Partner
Part of the journey is to find a partner who will agree to take it with you. This will get difficult and it is important to find someone who will hold you accountable to the challenges and talk through the questions with. This is an important person and probably the only way you can make it through all 40 days.
Leave Comments
Make sure you leave comments on the different posts. Part of the joy in the journey is seeing what others are doing and leaving words behind for others to hear about you.
Rest On Sundays
Every Sunday brings a day of rest. Take time to catch up on the challenges you need to work on but no new challenge will come. Relax on Sundays and get ready for the start of a new week.
Have fun and enjoy the journey.
